Bridges with total length of about 29 kilometers was constructed using two suspension bridges as the main bridge with a span length of 2,500 meters. This bridge will be equipped with infrastructure such as gas transmission, railroads, power transmission, and transmission of potable water.
Meanwhile, for the development of the area, will be compiled various zones such as industrial zones, tourism, energy, logistics, technology development, and export processing.
According to the Ministry of Public Works materials, construction of the Sunda Strait Bridge is considering a surge of traffic as the impact of economic development.
Traffic between the island of Java and Sumatra is estimated to reach 20000-27000 vehicles per day in 2025. In fact, the number of vehicles in 2007 as many as 11,500 units per day.

The plan of this bridge will begin construction in 2014 and take about 10 years for workmanship. Value of projects also varies, from the originally estimated Rp100 trillion, now increased to Rp215, 37 trillion. However, the cost is still a preliminary estimate based on the quantity or volume of work and unit prices of work.
