PT Jakarta International Container Terminal (JICT) for the second time nominated as the best container terminal in Asia. The Company was nominated for the category of container terminal under 4 million twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs).
Nominations was issued by the Asian Freight and Supply Chain Awards (AFSCA) and announcement of award winners will be held on June 5 in Shanghai, China.
“We are very pleased with this achievement. Award is a result of consistent hard work and sustained investment” said Albert Pang JICT President in a written statement received VIVAnews.com, Friday, June 1, 2012.
AFSCA itself is an annual awards ceremony to shipping companies, air freight and logistics industry that consistently excel in the field of services, quality of innovation, and customer relationship management.
In the nomination this time, JICT will compete with nine other container terminal company.
According to Albert, the company has been continuously improve productivity through the application of new technologies, new equipment investments, and employee performance improvement programs.
Given his own nomination AFSCA assessed a reflection of the commitment JICT shareholders, namely Hutchison Port Holdings (HPH) and the Indonesia Port Corporation. The shareholders are considered to continue to support national economic growth by ensuring the smooth flow of goods at the main gate of the port in Indonesia.
As a commitment, earlier this month, JICT also tested a new automated gate system and receive 20 trucks with environmentally friendly technologies to support field operations.
To note, the parent company JICT, HPH, has a network port operations covering 52 ports spread across 26 countries, namely Asia, the Middle East, Africa, Europe, America and Australia.
